    Hi all

I’m making some good headway on the PigNews theme – single posts & pages have taken shape nicely, a few of the theme options are now integrated, and I’m working on category/tag/author pages in between anything else. I’m hoping to have it ready for alpha testing pretty soon (would have been earlier except I was away for 2 weeks in June).

The only problem thus far is the front page. Can anyone offer some insight into the best way of dealing with the homepage layout? (http://www.flickr.com/photos/98478097@N00/3458799554/sizes/l/in/set-72157617074795732/)

What I mean is, without providing our own images for categories, etc, the user will need some way of setting the images themselves. How would you guys achieve this? Do I create an entire options page for them to upload, etc? Or force them to add the image to the theme folder using a specific naming convention? Or is there an easier way?

This also relates to the “main” image for a post – so that we can use the image on the homepage (in some cases, without the text), do we ask them to put it in a custom field? Or is that over-complicating things for the user?

I’m asking this here in the hope that someone who has dealt with this before can give me some ideas based on their own knowledge. If not, I’ll be looking through some existing themes and seeing how other people deal with the issue.

    Any suggestions appreciated!

    Anyone seen this?

    http://ocaoimh.ie/wordpress-mu-merge-gpl-and-support/

I came across it when I was trying to work out why the comment reply links weren’t working when testing the Pig News theme…

So I guess this means there is no point in testing on MU for now?

Just curious, but is there a todo list anywhere on what needs to be finished to get PigNews out the door? I have a lull in my workload currently, and figured I could lend a hand to get it released.
